Social Worker (MSW)

The Master's Social Worker (MSW) is responsible for identifying patient and family psychosocial, emotional and cultural needs and priorities for care through assessment, care planning, clinical interventions, education and evaluation of outcomes. The MSW provides emotional counseling and support to alleviate stress, enhance functional coping abilities, minimize potential problems/barriers related to the medical diagnosis or treatment and maximize opportunities for communication, problem-solving, adjustment to illness (acute or chronic) and complex discharge needs. Through documentation and oral communication, essential information is shared with the health care team members and other customers common to the unit/area(s) of assignment.

Minimum qualifications:

• Masters degree in Social Work form a School of Social Work approved by the Council on Social Work Education.
• Current LMSW or LCSW licensure in Idaho.
• At least one year of health care setting experience preferred.
