Description
MEDICAL BILLER Completes and submits bills on behalf of a healthcare
provider to commercial and/or government carriers. Works on-site at a
physicians office, clinic or hospital. May interact with insurance
providers and coders to clarify information prior to bill submittal.
Must be familiar with ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT and/or HCPCS coding systems.
Position requires knowledge of insurance submittal procedures and
medical forms (including UB04 and CMS 1500), excellent attention to
detail, and the ability to keep current with policy changes. Those
with highly specialized billing knowledge (e.g., long-term care,
infusion, anesthesia) may be able to command higher pay.
