The Unit Assistant performs nursing assistant and clerical duties in collaboration with the registered nurse to assure the safe and efficient operation of the unit and the safe care of the patient. Performs clerical responsibilities related to a specific unit or department. Posts and reconciles department charges. Transcribes physician orders. Maintains accurate and appropriate patient information on the chart. Also performs certain elements of patient care, including assisting patients with activities of daily living and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
